The first 2000 days----Brain development: Stress
Stress can interrupt brain development. If an infant is in a home where there is a lot of arguing or loud noise most of the time that can affect brain development. Infants thrive is a calm soothing safe space where there are allowed to explore.Do not use the word "No" too often as that can also affect brain development. No implies not to try not to explore it evoke fear.Toxic stress, prolonged stress is not good for your infant also. Good example families who live in a shelter and is not sure when they will have a stable place again. There is a lot of brain research now and as a result we need to adjust our care giving style to adapt to the new knowledge that we now have.
