This is a very important skill for your baby to learn : Now that your baby is 3.4 years she should be able to talk about her own emotions : She should be able to use pretend play and talk about emotions. For example : the baby is sad ,you can ask why is the baby sad ?the toddler may say he want his mommy".She should also be able to associate facial expressions with the words . She should be able to make a sad face or a happy face. Recently my grandson told us a story about a baby rabbit and he made the face to go along with cute. We burst out laughing . This is a developmental mile stone that he has mastered.
Your toddler will not just learn these by magic you need to introduce these concepts to your toddler . You can do this by reading stories,interacting by speaking with the child etc.
