Parent involvement -Attending to home work

Your child may be attending after school and you are working . When you pick up your child ask her about her day and share your day with her . Ask about her home work what is it and was she able to complete it  and when you get home take a look at it although the child may say "I already did it " . Checking the home let the child knows that you have an interest in their work and you care about what they are doing .Discuss their relationship with the children in their class this will allow you to learn about how they are relating to their peers and if they are experiencing any challenges in their class room.Building positive  relationships are very important

Parent involvement-Child well being

If your the care giver of your child has a concern about the development of your child it is important for you to listen ,have a conversation and then do some research and get another opinion . If your child needs an evaluation by a professional you should do it because if there is a concern and it is caught early you will avoid a long term problem if there is one .Doing an evaluation may prove that there is not a learning disability but other issue can be affecting the child . It may be the child is not being challenged,it may be the arrangement, it may be over stimulation  of the classroom among other things . Getting an evaluation is free it is better to have your child evaluated than to have an the problem spiral out of control.

-Personality development -Narcissism

We are learning that many things start in the early  years including personality development .. It is very important to help young children to develop a strong self-esteem and self confidence . If we do not be intentional about this children can have personality disorders when they become young adults .If you socialize children by making them feel that they have to be perfect that can also cause a disorder in their personality ,they can become trapped with feeling that they need to be perfect all the time . They can also hold them self to unrealistic ideals .Children can grow up to become adults who are hard on themselves .It is important to always validate  because they internalize  experiences children and  let them know that it is ok to fail at an activity because that is how we learn .
They can also grow up  with a narcissistic personality when we make them feel that they have to be perfect or use them to fulfill a function .
