Routine is an activity that is done over and over about the same time . Here are some examples of routine:
- waking up and getting ready
- Fist you get up
- Shower,brush your teeth
- Eat breakfast
- Get dress
- Must leave at a certain time
These are not just routines they are teaching moments for your young child who is new to the world and you are teaching her how the world works. Here are a few ideas to manage your morning routine smoothly .
- Have your child help you to take out his clothes the night before for older children you can have them pick out their clothes for the week and put them on hangers
- Get children up at least an hour before it is time to leave this prevents rushing
- this will allow the child enough time to get prepared for the day
- Talk with your child about the time that you have to leave and why you have to leave at that time
- Do not practice taking your child to school late because as they group up they will do the same thing and will not be able to maintain employment.
I am usually early to get to places because you want to give yourself enough time for delays and my teen-age daughter would always say "mom why do you always have to leave so early". A couple weeks ago we were running late for an appointment and she said"this is the first time we will be late for anything". Children do observe and is learning and depend on you to guide them.
