Transition- Reading

Transitions are good but can be challenging . For  infants/toddlers it is one of the ways that you guide them along the developmental mile stones . Being in tune with your infant/toddler allows you to help with them transition. Ajani is able to identify 18 letters of the alphabet . He has a lot of books they were used to build his cognitive skills ,vocabulary  and letter recognition and language.

We are now transitioning him to books with three letter words and  large  print .Many of his toys are  labeled. He is now noticing words . He is very interactive whenever he is being read with. I say this because there is a difference between reading to an infant/toddler and  reading with an infant/toddler. When you read with an infant /toddler the child is sitting on your lap this gives her a chance to interact with the book. She can touch the book , talk about what she is seeing . It is fine if she is just reading the pictures. You can ask her: Can you tell me what else you see?
