Making choices
Infants and toddlers must be given the opportunity to choose. You should provide a variety of items for your infant/toddler to play with. This will give your infant/toddler an opportunity to practice being an independent thinker. This skill is very important because as your infant/toddler gets older she will get more practice at making decisions. This skill will help your child deal with peer pressure later on , gang prevention , and just the idea of following what others may be doing that is not socially acceptable. Allowing your infant/toddler to engage in making choices you are developing her leadership skills. People usually say "John was born a follower". I do not believe that . The early experiences that John is exposed to will determine how he will be socialize. These skills are needed for life .
