Time out is out -has been out - giving language to deal with conflicts

My grand son came home a few times and told me that his teacher gave him time out  one day I asked the teacher why he was given time out "he took the ball from a student and kicked it hard over the fence  he was very aggressive".
I first pointed out that the child just turned 4 yrs   and that behavior is a normal behavior because he is impulsive  .He gave the child time out  and that  I do not know how that explained the expected behavior . I also explained that he should redirect the child  instead of giving time out  plus he is using code words like aggressive  I explained to him that children take on the character of certain and that  his behavior was not appropriate.

Scissors -

If your baby is two years old you should get her a safety scissors for her to develop her cutting skills . This is one of the skills she will need when she gets to kindergarten it takes infants/toddlers to time before they are able to master some skills therefore you have to get it going early . You should not wait for the child  to get to school at home they have one on one attention  and when they get frustrated you are there to encourage them to do some thing else and go back to cutting later. I bought him a scissors for his 2nd  birthday . He took it our and held it as if he cut before it took him six months before he was able to cut a piece of  paper.

Think about the brain -Fine motor skills

The holidays are here and as your purchase toys for your young ones please keep in mind that the toy must be age appropriate ,interactive and must be able to help with the development of the brain .

Intentional teacher is very important  during the early years because you are giving the foundation for later learning. Playing with a train set helps children to focus ,problem solve ,and a number of other skills. ADD attention deficit Disorder is a big problem and the toy that you choose can help the young brain learn how to focus this also helps to develop the fine muscles in the fingers and the eyes. An I -Pod will not develop the muscles in the fingers and young children learn by interacting with people and concrete items.

Socialskills

I remember a few months ago when you told Ajani to clean up or to stop his activity because it is bed  time he would began screaming and saying "no I do wanna go to bed" since last week for the same instruction  he is now calm ,ask for a story ore he pick a story and hen ask for his sleeping song.

Development is a process and understanding rules and  respecting them is critical . As the child grows there will be more rules and he will soon learn that in society we have rules this begins  when the child begins to interact with people out side the family : school setting, baby sitter etc.
You have to be patient with your young child.

Social emotional Development-Adapative social behavior

Your infant /toddler begins to understand that certain adult action is associated with expected behavior ( for example when I here a certain song It is nap time)birth to 18 months
18-36 months -begins to show empathy when some one is hurt . You toddler learns this from the care giver's reaction when they are hurt. Your are the mirror to the world and they view the world through your reaction to experiences. It is important to be consistent with your infant/toddler
