If your the care giver of your child has a concern about the development of your child it is important for you to listen ,have a conversation and then do some research and get another opinion . If your child needs an evaluation by a professional you should do it because if there is a concern and it is caught early you will avoid a long term problem if there is one .Doing an evaluation may prove that there is not a learning disability but other issue can be affecting the child . It may be the child is not being challenged,it may be the arrangement, it may be over stimulation of the classroom among other things . Getting an evaluation is free it is better to have your child evaluated than to have an the problem spiral out of control.
